Quality Assurance Nutritionist

Position Overview

A pioneering London based startup is looking for a motivated and driven Quality Assurance Nutritionist to play a central part in this young, fast moving company. The role of Quality Assurance Nutritionist requires you to deliver evidencebased nutritional expertise whilst undertaking routine quality assurance tasks, ensuring compliance with all business regulatory requirements. You will have an aptitude for science, understanding of computer systems and the capability to multitask and work independently under time restraints. You will ensure the services the business develops are nutritionally robust, inputting in the design and development of products and services.

 Key responsibilities

  • Validation of the company database of food and drink products to ensure it accurately reflects primary data and dietary categories appropriately
  • Ensure all external and internal data requirements are met
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated quality assurance testing of the food and drink database and system, ensuring results are appropriated documented and reported 
  • Analysis of quality assurance outputs, identifying nonconformity issues 
  • Working with the tech team to fix errors and improve the accuracy of the information contained within the food and drink database 
  • Review of data uploaded into the food and drink database, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Feed back into the development cycle for the food and drink platform, facilitating continual improvement of the database systems
  • Recommend maintenance enhancements to improve the accuracy of the current processes
  • Identify any potential quality issues per process and escalate potential concerns
  • Ensure deliverables meet functional requirements with the highest level of accuracy 

Requirements

  • BSc in Nutrition or equivalent
  • At least an Associate Registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition
  • Previous experience working with online databases desirable
  • Strong computing skills including Google Docs and online databases
  • Meticulous with a methodical approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and selfmotivated
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of quality assurance
  • Some compliance and testing experience
  • A strong understanding of EU food labelling and product legislation
  • Extensive nutrition knowledge of food allergies, intolerances and lifestyle diets
  • The ability to work as part of a team and build successful working relationships
